The Alta Pusteria valley is an ideal area for children and families. Here children find the greatest playground: the nature – with a lot of playgrounds, too. And then there are the Alpine Schools which offers climbing courses for children, in Braies, for example, children have the possibility to visit a farmer and to know more about its life, and then there are still the reindeers at the Croda Rossa of Sesto…

It seems to hear the Dolomites singing, during the Alta Pusteria International Choir Festival from the 23rd to the 27th of June 2010. About 90 choirs with 3000 participants will present 60 concerts from spiritual repertoire to opera as well as folk and alpine songs. And with music it continues: with the Gustav Mahler Music Weeks from the 10th July to the 08th of August 2010. Sesto is undisputable a paradise for hikers. Here, in the world natural heritage of the Dolomites you find a lot of excursions. A new theme route, for example, is called “Home Journey” and connects Sesto with Sillian in Austria. It is an excursion of a day and 33 display boards give the massage to the wanderer “A homeland is engraved by nature; a homeland is engraved by a human hand!”. But this is not the only theme route of Sesto. It can’t be more comfortable: you buy a card, the Three Peaks Card, and you have the possibility to visit museums, to enter into sports facilities and to use the chairlifts and cable cars of the Alta Pusteria Valley without get another ticket. The Three Peaks Card includes also the Mobilcard, a card with which you can use the South Tyrol Transport Association’s (bus and train). So you can visit other villages and you can start for excursion where the point of destination is a different one as the point of departure – and all without your one car. The price of the Three Peaks Card is 42,- Euro (including the Mobilcard). Children up to 6 years get a free card if the parents have the card. There are reductions for children from 6 to 15 years and reductions for families too. Walking during spring in Sesto
Sesto in the Dolomites is known for its marvellous landscape, for the majestic Dolomites and for its great opportunities in walking and hiking. The region around Sesto is a real paradise for every walker. Now, in spring, when in the mountains there is still snow, you can choose among a lot of walking trails in the valley. For example the walking tour from “Piano Fiscalina” up to the “Fondo Valle” hut, which you reach in about 30 minutes, is very nice. The wide path is closed for traffic and during walking you can enjoy a great panorama of the Sesto Dolomites. So, on 13th of March 2010 there is in program the Skiraid Tre Cime, a skitour race with mass start in the wonderful mountains of the Dolomites.
