Theme routes in Sesto / Dolomites

Sesto is undisputable a paradise for hikers. Here, in the world natural heritage of the Dolomites you find a lot of excursions. A new theme route, for example, is called “Home Journey” and connects Sesto with Sillian in Austria. It is an excursion of a day and 33 display boards give the massage to the wanderer “A homeland is engraved by nature; a homeland is engraved by a human hand!”. But this is not the only theme route of Sesto. A route, much shorter and very interesting especially for children, is the “milkmile”. 10 different stages inform about the milk, about the pastures in Sesto, about the various cattel breeds and so on. Discover the Alta Pusteria Valley with the Three Peaks Card

It can’t be more comfortable: you buy a card, the Three Peaks Card, and you have the possibility to visit museums, to enter into sports facilities and to use the chairlifts and cable cars of the Alta Pusteria Valley without get another ticket. The Three Peaks Card includes also the Mobilcard, a card with which you can use the South Tyrol Transport Association’s (bus and train). So you can visit other villages and you can start for excursion where the point of destination is a different one as the point of departure – and all without your one car. The price of the Three Peaks Card is 42,- Euro (including the Mobilcard). Children up to 6 years get a free card if the parents have the card. There are reductions for children from 6 to 15 years and reductions for families too. Skiraid Tre Cime and European Championship in Snowball Fight

dreizinnen-trecimeThe month of March is normally a month which offers great days on the ski, us now, in spring, the sun warms more, but in Sesto/Sexten it is also the month of big events. So, on 13th of March 2010 there is in program the Skiraid Tre Cime, a skitour race with mass start in the wonderful mountains of the Dolomites. A lot of fun waits for you during the European Championship in Snowball Fight from 15th to the 16th of March 2010. Winter Wonder World of the Croda Rossa

Reindeers Croda RossaFor adults and for children the skiing area Croda Rossa is a real winter paradise. Here you find a toboggan run, ice-castles, gigantic snowmen and obviously ski trails for beginners and families as well as for experts. And, a real highlight, not only for children is the reindeer-familiy.
